REAL ESTATE DEVELOPMENT

Since 1982 ROI and its affiliates have been developing affordable housing… both for rent and for sale… to meet the critical needs of low-income families, seniors and disabled citizens in NY, PA, NJ, OH, IN, and Puerto Rico.

Over 2,700 units have been developed in partnership with both urban and rural communities.  The goal of ROI's Real Estate Development division (RED) is:

…to develop high quality, affordable housing for low- and moderate-income families; to professionally manage the housing; to assist and encourage residents' participation to ensure that developments offer a satisfying living environment; and to create communities that are assets to residents, the larger community, and to ROI.

RED is a full service developer with expertise in the planning, financing, closing, construction and management of complex real estate projects.  RED includes a staff of 17 located throughout 6 states and Puerto Rico.  Our staff has expertise in the planning, community approval process, and financing of small and large multi-unit affordable housing developments utilizing a variety of sources. In addition, the Real Estate Development division is experienced in long-term, resident-driven community planning efforts to identify asset-based approaches to obtaining consensus on development and community revitalization approaches. (see Community Based Planning)

Most of ROI's developments are managed by its own internal division, ROI Management Services, Inc., with extensive expertise in professional standards for selecting good tenants and high standards for managing the physical assets.
