Advocacy activities are conducted across the ROI service area by staff and Board Members and through community support. Through participation and partnerships with other coalitions, ROI's advocacy efforts reach beyond our service area to a national scope that impacts policies at all levels.

The ROI Committee for Farmworker Justice (CFJ)
Established in 1981, CFJ is a voluntary committee comprised of ROI staff, board members, and other interested farmworker advocates.

CFJ serves as an instrument for concerned individuals to demonstrate their commitment to the problems, needs, and rights of migrant and seasonal farmworkers.


CFJ Members strongly support: 

  • Improving wages, benefits and work place conditions for farmworkers
  • Creating, preserving & expanding resources and programs which support: 
    • Affordable Housing & Economic Development
    • Education and Training for farmworker youth and adults
  • Providing farmworker youth and adults with leadership development to be active community members
  • Immigration ReformProviding equal opportunity for career choice to farmworker youth
