TCE Free Tax Preparation

The TCE Free Tax Preparation Program provides free, simple tax return preparation to elderly, disabled,Latino and other clients in the community.

Clients

If you are interested in getting your taxes prepared, please call (585) 340-3707 for a weekly listing of sites. Walk in assistance is provided from 11:00 am - 3:00 pm every Saturday during tax season at The Central Library of Rochester and Monroe County. Please be advised we prepare simple tax returns. See the "What to Bring" list for information on what is needed.

Volunteers

Free training is provided! Please e-mail us if you are interested in becoming a volunteer at tceservices@ruralinc.org. We provide free, Saturday training sessions at St. John Fisher College every January. You can also find the curricula online at www.irs.gov (link and learn taxes)

What to Bring

Photo identification for yourself and your spouse (if necessary)
Social security cards for yourself and your dependents
All wage information (i.e. W-2's, 1099's) for the current year
Any information for deductions or credits
Child care expenses: need to have amount of expenses for each dependent, social security number or EIN (employee identification number) of caregiver
Medical expenses: receipts, logs, etc.
A copy of last year's Federal and State returns
